Essay of Favorite song

In the song, "Wake up Everybody." The title sounds boring, but on an poets level it uses a lot of poetic devices. The song was created by a man named Harold Melvin in 1975. This poem uses a lot of poetic devices such as sound, image, and a new perspective. For my first reason is this song uses a lot of sound and rhyme. It uses a good sound of rhyme scheme using ABAB CDCD EFEFGG. For example he says, "Way and Can," for his A's, "hand and Can," for his B's. He continues the rhyme scheme all the way to G's. My second reason is he uses phrases that gives readers a clear image of what he is saying. For example he said, there is so much hatred war and poverty." This mean that we're living in a world of war among ourselves. That sends a image in your head of a war. Another line that sends a clear image in your head is, "Wake up all the builders time to build a new land." This sends a picture in your head of some people building a building or landscape. This poem gives

Reflection on the presidential election

What I felt about this election is shocked because in the past election the electoral votes for one candidate wasn't so high. Another reason I was shocked is because I never seen so many republicans vote for a democratic party, 29% of the republicns voted for Barrack Obama then John McCain. I knew it was possible for a African American man to be elected for president but I never knew it would be so soon. I thought John McCain was going to win at first because so many people thought he had more experience over Barrack, butit went the other way around and Obama won. Barrack Obama won all the people vote from ages 18-24 voted for Barrack Obama. I hope that Barrack Obama will make the economy run smoothly again.

It gives plenty of information about his early life his first voyage to his last voyage. This website shows where his family comes from and if they were rich or poor.

critical essay #1

Although in animal farm it seems to be a story about animals, actually it is a story about the Russian revolution. The book was written by a man named George Orwell. It was written in the year of 1945 and was written in England . It was attended to criticize Stalin and the Russian people. In animal farm, the way characters respond to stories has a strong connection to there ability to survive. Squealer is the person who twists mostly every story told. A personality of Squealers is graceful because of his lies. A example is he is living happy on the farm with Napoleon. Another example is he is eating good on the farm. Another personality of Squealer is he is a very persuasive talker. A example is the seven commandment, he persuaded the other animals the commandments never changed. Another example is he made most of the animals believe that Napoleon is always right. His final personality is he gives out misleading information to the other animals. A example is he told the animal that, "Apple and milk are good for them." Another example is he told all the animals that Snowball was a criminal. Through all his lies he turned out to be powerful, rich and fat. Another important character in the story was Boxer and he is a believer of almost every story. A personality of him is the was stupid. A example of this is in the story it said the Boxer couldn't read past the letter D of the alphabet. Another example is in the story on page 70 Boxer said, " If comrade Napoleon say it, it must be right." Another personality of him is he works hard on the farm. A example is he was working mostly from sun up to sun down. Another example is he volunteered every morning doing farm work. His final personality is he was stubborn. A example is he didn't listen to Clover, in the story it said," Clover warned him sometimes to be careful not to over strain himself, but Boxer would never listen to her." Another example is he didn't budge when the dogs plunged at him, Boxer caught them and pinned them to the ground about to kill them but Napoleon told them to let them loss. At the end Boxer got slaughtered because he always though that Napoleon was right. Another important character is Benjamin who was very suspicious of stories. A personality of him is he is foolish. A example of this he said, "God gave him a tail to keep flies off." Another example is he never laughed at any thing. Another personality is he was very smart. A example is he didn't side with any of the factions. Another example is he knew all the letters of the alphabet and he could read. Another characteristic was he was imprudent. A example is he could read but refused to read because in the story he said, "There was nothing worth reading." Another example is he knew that Boxer was going to the slaughter house but failed to tell the other animals where he was going. At the end Benjamin is living but struggling to find food. In animal farm characters way of dealing with stories changes their outcome at the end of the story. The main focus of these paragraphs is to see how different characters react to different stories that is used to manipulate others in the book. This book shows in the real world that society can over run you if you don't speak up and defend yourself.

Proposed topic essay (Rough Draft)

Sir Francis Drake was born 1540, in the estate country of England. Francis was an Englishman and an English explorer. He was a successful privateer, a talented navigator, and one of the most renowned seamen in all history. He was part of the Engish defeat over the Spanish Armada and being the first englishman to sail across the world. All the articles that I read it didn’t have any sayings about his parents. When he was 18 years old he started ship trading to the Bay of Bicay. By the time he was 23 he went on slaving voyages to Guinea in West Africa. At 24 he was named captain of the Judith. On the Judith he started going on expeditions around the Spanish Main in the west Indies and Central America. Most of there ships were sunken by the Spaniards on there expeditions. He played a big role in history because he helped the English defeat the Spanish and became the first Englishman to travel around the world. Along the way he had a few problems, and met a few friends. One problem he faced was the Spanish attacked him and his men and they almost killed him. Lucky for him and a couple of other men they survived but just barely making it out alive. It will seem as though they would retaliate they didn't they just keep on going on expeditions and they camed prepared this time so if they meet them this time they will have the fire power to back them up. When they last met Sir Francis and his men were prepared for them and defeated them and took over Nombre De Dios. He played a big part in the English history because he defeated the Spanish armada and put a end to there high crime and robberies. Sir Francis Drake died in the year of 1596.

Third Annotation

This article was made by a person named Matt and this article was found at http://library.thinkquest.org/J002678F/sir_francis_drake.htm.
This article gives you a brief story about Sir Francis adventure being the first Englishman to sail across the world. This is a secondary source because it doesn't have any of his quotes or says in this article and it doesn't have any newsletters, or writing from him. This article gives you few information about him but it still gives some information about his back round. During his adventure he met some people along the way and some enemy's along the way and this article gives you little to none information about there dispute or friendship.

First Annotation

The article that I read was Drake Sir Francis about Sir Francis Drake the explorer. The Author of this article was Ernle Bradford and Felipe Fernández-Armesto. The web site I found it on was http://www.britannica.com/shakespeare/print?articleId=31135&fullArticle=true&tocId=1893
This article is a secondary source because it was put together by a person who used secondary and some primary source. Why it is a secondary source is because it gives you facts and some fiction from an other's person point of view. This article is mostly about him and his trip going around he world, and what consequences and problems along the way.

English Ms. Melville

In the story, "The most dangerous game." There are two reasons why Rainsford values liberty over equality.
The first reason why Rainsford liberty over equality is because he's  a hunter. A good example to show this is he killed Ivan and one of Zaroff's dogs during the game. Another example is he said, "The world is made up of two classes-the hunters and the huntees. Luckily for you and I we are the hunters." Lastly he thinks that hunting is the best sport in the world.
The second reason why Rainsford values liberty over equality is because he knows the sounds of a hunter.A good example is Rainsford said, "Pistol shots." That means that he knows the different type s of guns. Another example is he heard an animal that he never heard before so this mean he has hunted a lot of animals. Finally he killed Zaroff and sleep in his bed.
These are the two reasons why Rainsford values liberty over equality.

Who I choose as the next president

Who I choose as the next president is Barack Obama because he is trying to change how people pay for there health care and how he is going to change gun violence. John McCain on the other hand is trying to not change gun violence but he is trying to give everyone universal health care.
A reason why I chose Barack over McCain is because Barack is trying to make everyone have affordable health care or he will pay for it out of his own money. McCain is trying to give everyone $5,000 refundable tax credit.
Another reason I chose Obama over McCain is because Obama is trying to put restrictions on some guns and run back round checks on gun owners. McCain is trying to put a ban only on several types of assault weapon. He want to put people in jail for committing a crime but he is not trying to put a end to gun violence.

Nhd topic selection

I choose Sir Francis Drake for my NHD topic because I want to learn how Sir Francis Drake defeated the Spanish and how he traveled all across the world. This person is important to history because he helped the English to defeat the Spanish Armada. For this week's research, I found an article at http://library.thinkquest.org/J002678F/sir_francis_drake.htm and http://www.historylearningsite.co.uk/sir_francis_drake.htm.'

How Technology has changed my life

I believe that tecnology is a big part of everyones live including me because it's looking as if the people is turning the whole society into a place of tecnology. I think it will be harder for me if I didn't know about tecnology because alot of my homework, and classwork is based on using a computer or something dealing with tecnology. If it wasn't for me being so determined to learn about the computer world I might not know half the things that goes on around. Now that i'm more experienced at working with computer I find alot of things that I do now to not be so much as a challenge because of tecnology. I am not yet experienced to teach people how to use computers but I know how to fix computers.
